Warm golden colour, flowing grain and a generous 40 mm thickness give this oak chopping board a solid, welcoming presence in the kitchen. Already made and in stock, it is ready to become part of your daily cooking routine without the wait for a made-to-order board.

The long grain construction brings the oak’s natural detail to the fore. Fine lines run along the surface, interrupted by lighter flecks and ribbons that catch the light. These markings give this particular board its character, with subtle changes in tone across the timber.

At 405 × 315 mm, there is comfortable room for everyday preparation, from chopping vegetables for supper to slicing bread for lunch. The surface has no juice groove, leaving the full area clear for working and making it easy to sweep prepared ingredients into a bowl or pan. Recessed finger grips make the substantial board easier to lift and carry.

Its simple shape also lends itself to serving. A loaf of fresh bread, a selection of cheeses or a few things to share at the table sit naturally against the warm oak.

This is a completed board with a fixed size and specification. Customisation is not available, and the photographs show the actual board.

Oak has a warmth that suits both traditional and contemporary kitchens, with colours ranging from pale gold to deeper honey brown. On this board, the lengthways grain is joined by distinctive pale flecks and broader, ribbon-like markings. These are the oak’s natural medullary rays, which add depth to the surface and reveal different details as the light moves across it.

As a hard, durable timber, oak is well suited to the demands of everyday food preparation. Its substantial feel is reassuring in use, while the long grain surface shows off the wood’s flowing pattern across the full board. With regular care, the colour deepens and the surface develops a patina through use. When it eventually needs refreshing, solid oak can be sanded and re-oiled, helping the board serve you for years to come.

A little regular care will help keep the oak looking its best. Hand wash after use, dry thoroughly and apply a suitable food-safe board oil when the timber begins to look dry. Avoid soaking or putting it in the dishwasher.

For made to order boards, because we work with natural hardwoods, the grain pattern, wood markings and colour may vary from those shown, and sizes may differ by a small percentage. For in stock products the images are of the actual board listed.

Natural Hardwood: Every chopping board is handcrafted from solid hardwood, so natural variations in colour, grain, figure and small character marks—including occasional knots or mineral streaks—are to be expected and make each board unique. Any imperfections that could affect durability or hygiene are carefully treated, filled and sealed as part of our finishing process.
